The unique Tantalum design provides superior performance in highly-corrosive applications and eliminates installation requirements. The first single straight tube meter available with Tantalum wetted-flange material construction, is well-suited for the chemical industry and measures highly aggressive or corrosive fluids, featuring a no-hassle installation and superior performance in density and mass flow. Tantalum is generally considered impervious to most fluids, making it ideal for the manufacturer’s straight tube coriolis flowmeter. The Tantalum design makes it both an affordable and ideal solution for the safe and reliable measurement of fluids that require glass lined piping or glass lined process vessels. Tantalum has similar chemical resistance as glass, and is typically used with chemicals such as Hydrochloric, Sulphuric, Nitric, and Phosphoric acids, or Bromine and Chlorine. The Tantalum used by the company is an alloy called Tantalum Ta10W, which is comprised of 10 percent Tungsten and 90 percent Tantalum. Tungsten provides the additional tensile strength required to handle the stresses associated with straight tube technology.
