According to Reuters, U.S. agrochemical company Monsanto Co. said on Wednesday, April 20 it was cooperating with a subpoena from Illinois'' attorney general seeking information on pricing and licensing of genetically modified seeds. In a statement, St. Louis-based Monsanto said the information sought by the attorney general''s office was similar to requests made by others in the past. Monsanto said it would fully cooperate with the Illinois attorney general''s subpoena. Monsanto said its commercial approach is to broadly license its value-added technologies to hundreds of seed companies so that growers who wish to plant seeds with the company''s innovations can choose the seed brands they prefer.
