LONDON — A large fire broke out May 28 at a chemical processing plant in south London, The Guardian reported.
The blaze engulfed about half of the factory warehouse and sent a massive plume of smoke across the city’s skyline.
A dozen fire engines battled the flames, which burned for more than four hours.
"Our firefighters worked extremely hard to contain the fire, which damaged around half of a big industrial unit. Heavy smoke spread throughout the area and as a precaution, we have asked people to keep their doors and windows closed,” said Assistant Commissioner Dany Cotton.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
