BRADENTON, Fla. — A contract worker was hospitalized Monday after being buried in a cave-in at Bradenton’s wastewater treatment plant, the Bradenton Herald reported.
The 42-year-old man was replacing a valve in one of the underground lines for the treatment basin when dirt caved in on him and buried him up to his chest.
Emergency workers dug the man out and rushed him to Blake Medical Center where he is being treated for internal injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
