PORTLAND, Ore. — About 1,800 gallons of raw sewage flowed into Oregon’s Willamette River on Sunday after a pump failed at an apartment building, KATU.com reported.
The leak was contained by a private cleanup firm at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Linc Mann with Portland''s Bureau of Environmental Services urged residents to avoid contact with the river on Monday and Tuesday.
