CHEROKEE, Ala. — Oklahoma City-based LSB Industries Inc. expects its Alabama ammonia plant to lose three to five months of production due to a pipe rupture.
The rupture at the Cherokee Nitrogen Co. facility in Cherokee, Ala., caused significant damage to the heat exchanger portion of the ammonia plant.

The company is determining whether damages extend beyond the area where the rupture occurred. No serious injuries, or environmental impact, resulted from the incident.
