Ammonia leak forces 400 poultry plant workers to evacuate

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — About 400 workers were evacuated and 10 were hospitalized after authorities detected ammonia leaks at two poultry plants in northwest Arkansas Monday morning, ky3.com reported.

The Springdale Fire Department is currently investigating the ammonia leaks, which occurred at plants owned by Tyson and Cargill.

Both plants have been re-opened.
