CORIO, Australia — Firefighters were called to a Shell oil refinery southwest of Melbourne, Australia, Saturday when super-heated flammable sand, used in fuel production, began leaking from a pipe, 9News reported.
A section of the plant was shut down and roads in the vicinity closed as a precaution while authorities responded to the leak, the article stated.
Air monitoring tests confirmed that no dangerous substances escaped from the refinery.
