According to Business Wire, BOC has formally opened a new depot in Hobbs, New Mexico, to distribute liquefied carbon dioxide (CO2) to customers in the Permian Basin for use in boosting production from natural gas wells. BOC employs 15 people at the depot, 11 of whom are drivers. Those drivers get the liquefied gas from BOC''s CO2 plant in Denver City, Texas, and bring it to the Hobbs facility, which serves as a supply hub for customers in New Mexico and Texas. From there, the drivers will deliver the CO2 to customer sites. In the year since the Hobbs depot began operating, BOC has grown its operation from a small startup position to become a major supplier in the area.
