Bristol-Myers to construct new plant in Massachusetts

The Associated Press reports that drug maker Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. has purchased an 89-acre site to build a new plant for manufacturing biological compounds.The company said the new Devens, Mass. manufacturing facility will be used to increase production of biologicals like Orencia, which is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Construction should be complete by 2009 and the company plans to submit the site for regulatory approval in 2010.
