Nominations are being invited from across the world for the third annual David Ball Award for Fire and the Environment. The award is sponsored by Kidde plc in association with the EPA and the National Fire Protection Association. The award will be presented to the winner at the Earth Technologies Forum in Washington D.C. in April 2004. The closing date for nominations is December 31, 2003. The award recognizes the significant contribution made by an individual, team or organization either in advancing the understanding of the impact of fire on the environment, or in developing better methods of fire control to benefit or protect the environment.
