CHICAGO — The 3rd Annual American Water Summit is expected to draw a record number of attendees to Chicago on Nov. 13-15.
According to its organizers, the American Water Summit brings together leaders from the public and private sectors to discuss ways to build a foundation for a successful water future.
The upcoming event will attempt to answer three core questions:
1. What are the new business models to revitalize the U.S. water sector?
2. How can the public be better encouraged to pay more for their reliable water services?
3. Where is the American water sector heading?
The summit will include a number of panel sessions including a discussion that addresses that addresses the new styles/formats of public-private partnerships; a panel focused on new models for utilities; and a panel that reviews the financial risks associated with projects dependent on trans-boundary waters and highlights the concept of inter-jurisdictional water conflicts.
Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, who just launched a $1 billion Clean Water Initiative, will deliver the keynote address.
