CHANGCHUN, China — According to the Chinese government, one child was killed and three people were sickened after drinking Coca-Cola Co. beverages that were tampered with in northern China, Bloomberg reported.

In a statement, the government said “dangerous substances” were added to Coca-Cola’s Minute Maid strawberry-flavored pulpy milk beverage.

Coca-Cola reviewed the incident and said it is not related to the quality of its products.

“Tests and reviews indicate our products are safe and within standards, and reaffirm the incident is not related to the quality of our products,” Coca-Cola said in a statement released Tuesday. “We are 100 percent confident in the safety and quality of our products.”
