The irradiation of polyethylene (PE) tubing greatly improves the thermal performance, wear and chemical resistance characteristics of PE tubing. The post-extrusion process utilizes highly energized electrons to create chemical bonds within the plastic polymer. The chemical bonding greatly increases the molecular weight and crosslinking of the polymer matrix. Polyethylene crosslinked (PEX) tubing meets all the requirements of ASTM standard F 876 and has a pressure rating of 80 psi for water at 200 degrees F. Stop by Booth 865 at INTERPHEX.
