The Associated Press is reporting that Crosstex Energy LP, which operates a natural gas pipeline and processing plants, said recently that it intends to build an $80 million natural-gas processing plant in the Barnett Shale area of northern Texas.
The plant, which will be called Bear Creek and is anticipated to become operational in the third quarter of 2009, will be capable of processing 200 million cubic feet of gas per day, Crosstex said.
The company said the capacity will raise its total processing capacity in the Barnett Shale area to 485 million cubic feet per day. Currently, Crosstex runs three gas processing plants in that area.
The plant will be placed near Crosstex''s Hood County midstream assets.
