Death toll from listeriosis outbreak rising, CDC reports

WASHINGTON — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported Tuesday that a listeriosis outbreak tied to cantaloupes from a Colorado farm has killed three more people and infected another 10.

A total of 133 infections and 28 deaths have been reported to CDC from 26 states.

All illnesses started on or after July 31, 2011.

Colorado has suffered the most deaths with seven.
