Eastman Chemical to Reduce Energy

The Associated Press reports that Eastman Chemical Co. has formally pledged to reduce energy intensity 25 percent over a 10-year period in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy. Jim Rogers, Eastman president and CEO, said the company already has reduced greenhouse gas intensity by 25 percent and energy intensity by 35 percent over the past 10 years. Eastman and other companies participated in a pledge-signing event at a DOE-sponsored energy efficiency forum. Rogers said Eastman is an energy-intensive industry and will continue to do all it can to be more energy efficient.
