TOCCOA, Ga. — Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp.’s aerospace facility in Toccoa, Ga., was honored recently by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals as the industrial 2011 Plant of the Year for outstanding operation of industrial pollution control in indirect wastewater discharge for physical and chemical pretreatment.
The association also recognized Eaton’s facility for water conservation. Eaton was the only indirect treatment winner in Georgia, where hundreds of such facilities are in operation.
“Receiving the Plant of the Year award is a great honor and reflects Eaton’s commitment to environmental stewardship in the communities where we live and work,” said Bill Hayford, plant manager of Eaton’s Toccoa facility. “Being an environmental leader is very important to us. Globally the company reduced water consumption by nearly 10% last year, indexed to sales. It takes investment in resources and training to achieve our environmental goals, and Eaton is committed.”
