Eli Lilly Exec Simmons Elected to Chiquita Brands Board

Chiquita Brands International Inc. said that its shareholders have elected Ely Lilly & Co. executive Jeffrey Simmons to the company''s board of directors, according to the Associated Press. Simmons, 44, is a senior vice president at Eli Lilly and president of Elanco Animal Health, the company''s animal health division. He will serve on the Chiquita board''s audit and food innovation, safety and technology committees. Director Bob Fisher did not stand for re-election, in line with the company''s retirement age guidelines, and all six other board members were re-elected, the company said.
