MarketWatch reports that Kellogg Co. was informed by the Food and Drug Administration that an Atlanta plant making Eggo waffles was contaminated by the bacteria Listeria. FDA sent the letter to Kellogg on January 27 informing the cereal maker that inspectors found the bacteria in five places in the plant. The inspection was in response to a positive finding by the Georgia Department of Agriculture of Listeria in a lot of waffles on Aug. 31.
