GE’s Ralph Exton to serve as board member for Water Environment Federation

NEW ORLEANS — GE today announced the appointment of Ralph Exton to serve as a member of the 2012-2013 Board of Trustees for the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Va.

Exton has extensive experience in various leadership, business and international roles and has more than 25 years of advanced water treatment and water purification experience. Exton’s position on the board took effect September 29.

In addition to his current role as the chief marketing officer—water and process technologies for GE Power & Water, Exton also leads the ecomagination program and water reuse and reduction initiatives, as well as the Water for Humanity program at GE. Exton is an active member of International Desalination Association and is co-chair for the AIChE Society for Water Solutions.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the WEF board and to be amongst this group of distinguished professionals from the water industry,” said Exton. “I look forward to engaging with the other board members to address the ongoing water challenges our world faces every day.”

GE also announced that Paul Schuler, regional executive for GE Power & Water’s water and process technologies, is stepping down from his role as a member of the Board of Trustees for WEF, which he held during the 2011-2012 session.
