PTFE convoluted open pitch, heavy wall hose assemblies have a heavier wall (up to 33% more PTFE) than a typical convoluted hose, according to the manufacturer. The hose assemblies can handle vacuum applications in temperatures up to 500 degrees F. The increased wall thickness provides improved vacuum resistance at higher temperatures, greater kink resistance and reduced permeation. In addition, the PTFE core reduces friction, minimizing pressure drops and deposits. Hoses are manufactured in sizes from ½-inch I.D. up to 4-inch I.D. with a stainless steel or polypropylene braid.
