The newly redesigned NA-99 flush-mounted sight port from L.J. Star Inc is detailed in a recently released product bulletin. Intended specifically for aseptic and sanitary applications, the new low-profile sight glasses are quickly and easily installed and feature the use of a Metaglas® safety glass window which is virtually immune to catastrophic failure. They are available in either duplex stainless steel or Hastelloy C-22.

The bulletin includes information on applications, materials of construction and a listing of the many approvals attained by the Metaglas element. Dimensional and operating temperature data are provided by a cut-away drawing and table describing standard tube diameters from ½-inch to 4 inches.

The NA-99 sight port becomes a sanitary service light port with the integration of a standard USL-series dust and water-jet tight light source (IP65, NEMA 4 and 4X, among others) capable of providing up to 100 watts of illumination. Described in a similar product bulletin, the illuminated sight port features the same approvals related to the unilluminated NA.99 sight port and is rated for operating temperatures up to 90°C (194°F). Other key specifications include a choice of source voltages of 12, 24, 120 or 220 volts, a 316 stainless steel housing and a bulb life of over 2,000 hours.
