AquaProbe 1 and 2 insertion electromagnetic flowmeters offer a cost-effective alternative to full-bore meters as well as a convenient way to perform surveys on existing lines and meters. AquaProbe 1, intended for permanent installations where power is available, connects with the proven ABB MagMaster transmitter. It offers 4-20 ma analog output and HART Communication options. AquaProbe 2, powered by a battery pack, primarily serves temporary installations. Typical applications of AquaProbe 2 include checking, verifying, and certifying existing meters or performing water loss surveys and studies on water distribution, pump efficiency and trunk mains. It can also measure water flows in remote locations lacking power. Aquaprobe 2 comes with such options as AC power with battery backup, data logger, and pressure transducer. The AquaProbe insertion flowmeters offer a great deal of flexibility for water applications. Hot-tap insertion permits installation without interrupting flow, reducing inventory unit requirements, and cutting replacement costs. The EEPROM memory within the AquaProbe 2 simplifies setup of replacement units, eliminating recalibration and configuration. The AquaProbe units come in lengths of 12, 20, 25 and 40 inches for pipe diameters from 8 to 320 inches. Accuracy is better than ± 2% of flow rate and battery life lasts up to five years.
