Kellogg acquires assets of contract snack maker IndyBake

According to the Associated Press, food maker Kellogg Company has acquired the assets of IndyBake Products LLC and Brownie Products Company, a contract snack manufacturing business. Financial terms were not disclosed. IndyBake and Brownie, which make cracker, cookie and frozen dough products, have two manufacturing facilities in Seelyville, Ind., and Gardner, Ill. The plants will be integrated into Kellogg''s U.S. Snacks operation. IndyBake and Brownie had combined revenue of $50 million in 2007, according to Kellogg. IndyBake and Brownie have worked with Kellogg for many years as a snacks contract manufacturer. About 150 IndyBake and Brownie employees joined Kellogg when the deal closed.
