WASHINGTON — An outbreak of listeria traced to Colorado cantaloupes has killed at least four people, The Associated Press reported.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently in the process of confirming two more deaths, which would bring the death toll up to six.
The CDC said that 35 people in 10 states — California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia — have been sickened in the outbreak so far.
The illnesses have been traced to fruit from Jensen Farms in Holly, Colo.
