Lyondell Chemical Co. will shut down a gasoline-producing unit at its Houston refinery for about 10 days'' maintenance, booking a charge to earnings, the Associated Press reports. The shutdown of its fluid catalytic cracking unit, which breaks down crude oil into refined products, is expected to reduce the company''s second-quarter results by $20 million to $30 million, before taxes. Lyondell said it would make minor adjustments to newly installed equipment at the unit. The Houston refinery processes gasoline, diesel, benzene and other chemicals.
