MONROE, N.C. — Gold Signature Foods announced last week that it is shutting down its food processing plant in Monroe, N.C., The Charlotte Observer reported.
According to a notice filed Friday with the N.C. Department of Commerce, 116 jobs will be eliminated by the closure.
The plant produced “value-added chicken products,” as well as breaded, battered and frozen meat, cheese and vegetable products.
