Suspended Solids Density Meter
A new suspended solids density meter from Markland Specialty Engineering monitors industrial slurry/sludge concentrations in tanks and pipelines and allows users to program sludge removal pumps for optimum density. It uses non-radioactive ultrasound to measure mix tank inflow densities. An output signal is continuously sent from the probe (throw-in style or inline spool-piece available) to a computer, providing a linear reading of the percentage of suspended solids and enabling calculation of solids mass flow. This helps operators adjust fluid/particulate amounts and polymer/chemical dosing for efficient, effective process control.
