KROHNE, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of measuring instruments for the process industry, will hold two seminars later this month designed to provide a thorough understanding of planning, documentation and operation of safety related systems.

The seminars will be held in Calgary at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, and at the Denver Athletic Club on Thursday, May 30, 2013.

Ideal for system integrators, consulting engineers and end users in the process industry, including chemical, petrochemical, and energy, as well as oil and gas branches, each seminar offers practical examples of functional safety. Topics covered include basics of safety loops in process automation, practical examples of safety loop design and SIL Life Cycle Management.

The last presentation will provide information on how and where to obtain failure rates that are not provided on vendor certificates in terms of SIL. This discussion will also review how the information is presented on the certificates produced by the most important global data providers.
