Loop-powered Bar Meter

November 5, 2013

OTEK LPD bar meterUsing nanotechnology ASIC and high efficiency LEDs, the new bar-meter by OTEK rivals analog meters by requiring under 50mW of signal power versus ~20mW of analog meters. In exchange, users get an auto-tricolor (R/G/Y), 51 segment bar, four full digits (0.01% resolution), isolated Serial I/O (USB or RS485), alarm (4) set points and the industry’s first loop failure detect (open or short). So, there is no need to finger tap the meter any longer, the new LPD Series will indicate if the loop failed, even after it does. All these features use less than 50mW of signal power. The LPD-X housing is FM, CSA and Euro approved for explosive environments for Class I, Division 1 and Groups B-G and EX and ECEX: 1M2 and EXd1. It mounts on panel/wall or ¾ NPT. The case is only 4.3”x3.9”x3.7” deep and has tempered UV coated glass for the 300-degree bar-digital display. IRDA communications (through the window) is optional but USB/485 (through piping) is included.
