Inpro/Seal Sentinel Floating Brush SealInpro/Seal, the inventor of the original Bearing Isolator, introduces the Sentinel™ Floating Brush Seal (FBS) for Elliott YR process steam turbines. Standard carbon rings are the traditional sealing method for process steam turbines. Their weak and brittle design causes carbon rings to wear quickly and become ineffective within a short period of time. When carbon rings fail, it leads to increased steam loss and high maintenance costs.

The Inpro/Seal Sentinel FBS was developed as a drop-in replacement to carbon rings. Proven to extend seal life by three times normal maintenance intervals, the Sentinel FBS utilizes brush seal technology. Its unique design is comprised of densely packed and flexible metallic bristles that “bend” with changing clearances between rotating and stationary surfaces. The brush serves as the primary shaft seal while a carbon element provides face sealing in the turbine?s casing.
