Attritor for Processing Proppants in Fracking Industry

March 6, 2014

Union Process C-60 AttritorUnion Process, Inc.'s C-60 Attritor is for continuous processing of proppants used in the growing fracking industry. Proppants are typically comprised of treated sand or man-made ceramic materials that are designed to keep an induced hydraulic fracture open during or following a fracturing treatment. The continuous grinding C-60 tank is constructed from abrasion-resistant steel and has a gross volume of 79 gallons. The tank lining is a special WellerCLAD composite overlay material that is also abrasion-resistant. The mill is driven by a 150HP motor and has a variable frequency controller that is installed in a NEMA enclosure. An LCD OIM (operator interface module) is programmed to display agitator RPM, motor amperage and motor HP being used. Union Process is the inventor and developer of Attritor technology and manufactures wet and dry grinding mills as well as horizontal bead mills.
