AFC Enterprises CEO Keymer resigns
The Associated Press reports that AFC Enterprises Inc., operator of fast-food chain Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, said Friday President and Chief Executive Kenneth L. Keymer is resigning, effective March 30. Keymer, 57, said in a statement he is leaving the company to devote more time to his family and personal interests. He has served as president since June 2004 and was promoted to CEO in September 2005. Former Chief Financial Officer Frederick B. Beilstein will serve as interim CEO until a replacement is named. Beilstein has remained an active consultant to AFC and the Popeyes brand since leaving the company in 2005. He will be responsible for working with existing management to oversee the execution of AFC''s operations.
