Affordable polypropylene tubing suitable replacement for costlier fluoropolymer tubing

January 11, 2010

The economical, semi-rigid tubing is made from an NSF-61 compound and is used in applications such as potable water supply, food processing, beverage transfer, chemical lines, dispensing equipment, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical processing, refrigeration, compressed air, electronic equipment and household appliances, and more. The lightweight tubing has very low moisture absorption, high dielectric strength, and is also thermoformable and weldable. The low surface friction compound meets FDA requirements for food contact surfaces as well as the UL94 HB burn rating. These combined attributes make the tubing a viable and reasonably priced alternative to fluoropolymer tubing in many applications. Tubing is stocked in nine sizes from 1/4-inch through 1-1/4-inch O.D. Custom options consist of non-stock sizes, colors, heat formed shapes, coils, and cut-to-length pieces.
