Air Products to expand production in Kentucky, North Carolina

According to the Associated Press, specialty gas maker Air Products & Chemicals Inc. said Monday it will expand production capacity at facilities in Kentucky and North Carolina by about 850 tons per day. The expansions are intended primarily to meet demand from the company''s oil field services customers, as well as its electronics, metals manufacturing and food processing customers, Air Products said in a prepared statement. The company will increase the capacity of its Reidsville, N.C., factory by nearly 400 tons per day by the second quarter of 2008, and production at its Ashland, Ky., facility by approximately 450 tons per day by the third quarter of 2008, the company said.
