Argentine Oil Refinery, Gas Workers Resume Strike

According to Bloomberg, refinery and natural gas workers in Argentina resumed a strike after failing to reach an agreement with labor ministry officials in a pay dispute, the Buenos Aires Herald reported, citing a union official. The start of the strike by the refinery workers union, originally scheduled to begin May 4, was postponed by 24 hours and will continue indefinitely, the newspaper said. The industrial action has affected operations at Exxon Mobil Corp.’s refinery in Campana, Royal Dutch Shell’s Dock Sud plant, Repsol YPF SA facilities in Lujan de Cuyo and La Plata and Petroleo Brasileiro SA’s refiniery in Bahia Blanca.
