Bosch Rexroth opens $10 million manufacturing plant in China
January 28, 2004
Bosch Rexroth AG invested roughly $10 million in its new manufacturing plant in Wujin, an area of Changzhou, China. An opening ceremony took place January 16. This increased investment became necessary due to capacity bottlenecks at the previous site in the same area. There are two other Rexroth production sites in China, one in Beijing and one in Shanghai. The Wujin plant is the largest foreign investment by Bosch Rexroth in the area. The plant employs approximately 400 people. The company anticipates hiring an additional 100 people by the end of 2004. Bosch Rexroth will produce hydraulic cylinders and complete power units at the site. Further production lines are planned for pneumatics and electric drives as well as linear motion technologies.
