Chemical plant explosion in Inner Mongolia kills one, injures three

HOHHOT, China — One worker was killed and three others were injured Saturday when a fire erupted at Inner Mongolia 3F Fluorochemical Co. Ltd. in the city of Fengzhen, People’s Daily Online reported.

Tanks containing flammable VDF gas caught fire on the plant’s ground floor at around 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

Firefighters rescued three injured workers caught in the flames and evacuated other workers out of the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
