Coca-Cola Spends $2 Million on Lobbying

The Associated Press reports that Coca-Cola Co. spent $2 million in the first quarter to lobby the federal government on trade, packaging, tax policy and other business matters, according to a recent disclosure report. That''s more than the $1.9 million the company spent a year earlier or the $940,000 it spent in the fourth quarter of 2010. The world''s largest beverage maker lobbied Congress, Office of the White House, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Treasury, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of State, from January through March, according to the report filed April 20 with the House clerk''s office.
