Dean Foods Building New Dallas Plant

March 10, 2011

According to bizjournals.com, Dallas-based Dean Foods is converting a vacant structure in southwest Dallas into a manufacturing plant that could create up to 100 jobs. The plant will turn out products in its WhiteWave-Alpro Foods line by 2012. The WhiteWave product line includes Horizon organic milk, Silk soy milk, Land O’Lakes dairy products and International Delight non-dairy creamer. The Dallas City Council economic development committee reportedly will consider a proposal that would give Dean a $250,000 grant and a 10-year, 90 percent tax abatement on the company’s estimated $45 million in plant equipment and personal property.
