Digital Coriolis mass flowmeter eliminates interruptions
January 10, 2003
New Coriolis mass flow transmitter features patented technology to enable uninterrupted operation in batch applications starting with empty flow tube conditions. The unit is designed to control all aspects of the Coriolis meter for precise measurement in traditionally difficult to measure applications. Traditional Coriolis meters could not handle two-phase flows (liquid/gas). Such conditions adversely affect sensor performance by causing erratic vibration of the flow tubes, which in turn causes the transmitter to produce inaccurate flow signals. The new mass flowmeter minimizes the impact of entrained air by using a patented dual digital processing system that improves meter control throughout all stages of void fraction operation.
