Dow Chemical to Expand Plant in Thailand

Bloomberg reports, Dow Chemical Co. plans to spend $66.4 million to build a plant in Thailand, the country’s Board of Investment said in a statement. The plant will produce 150,000 metric tons of propylene glycol, a raw material used to make health-care products, each year. Dow Chemical has jointly invested in Thailand with Siam Cement Pcl, a Thai petrochemical and cement producer, with an investment value of 142.4 billion baht, the Thai government agency said, following a visit to the U.S. by Industry Minister Chaiwut Bannawat.
