Eastman Chemical spends $370,000 on 3Q lobbying

According to the Associated Press, Eastman Chemical Co. spent $370,000 in the third quarter to lobby the government on issues related to energy efficiency, according to a recent disclosure report. The total compared with $270,000 that the company spent on lobbying efforts in the year-ago quarter and was even with what it spent in the second quarter. Issues addressed by the manufacturer of coatings and specialty plastics included energy efficiency credits and advanced gasification technologies. Eastman Chemical lobbied the U.S. Senate and the Energy Department during the July-to-September period, according to the report filed Oct. 19 with the House clerk''s office.
