Electromagnetic Water Meter for Water, Wastewater Industry
November 15, 2010
The electromagnetic water meter is for applications in the water and wastewater industry. With short inlet and outlet installation requirements, the instrument can be installed in very narrow wells and chambers. At the heart of the meter is the measuring tube with a unique rectangular cross section, which offers several advantages: The coils are arranged so that a strong, uniform magnetic field is formed so the measurement is independent of flow profile. In addition, this allows for extremely short inlets and outlets. The minimal width of the magnetic eddy currents allow for highly accurate measurement (± 0.2% ± 1.5 mm / s). For use at remote water sources or wells or for network data transfer, the meter is available with remote data transmission. A Datalogger and GSM transmitter module is available. The unit can also indicate status or diagnostic conditions, such as battery life or less than full pipe conditions. The meter satisfies the requirements for custody transfer according to OIML R-49 and MI-001. Sensors are available in sizes from 1- to 24-inches (DN 25 to DN 600).
