EPA to hold two-day conference on radionuclides in wastewater systems
CINCINNATI — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency intends to contract the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) to organize a two-day workshop in Cincinnati that will focus on radionuclides in wastewater collection and treatment systems.
The conference will take place at EPA’s National Homeland Security Research Center (NHSRC). A date has not yet been announced.
According to EPA, the purpose of this workshop is to identify and convene highly qualified subject matter experts with unique expertise to advise NHSRC about what technical information operators of wastewater collection and treatment systems need in order to minimize the impact on public health, worker safety, wastewater system efficiency and the environment.
