Federal report on BP oil spill to be released

September 14, 2011
WASHINGTON — The U.S. government is prepared to release a report into what caused the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in April 2010, The Associated Press reported.

The federal report, which may be released as early as Wednesday, details key data regarding the critical mistakes leading up to the worst oil spill in U.S. history.

The report is set for release amid accusations that BP made crucial errors on the well and failed to warn its partners and the U.S. government about the possibilities of a spill.
