Fire at Thai petrochemical plant kills 12
BANGKOK — Explosions at a major petrochemical plant in eastern Thailand sparked a fire Saturday that killed 12 and injured than 100 people, Fox News reported.
The explosions occurred when workers were cleaning a chemical tank at Bangkok Synthetics plant, which is located in the Map Ta Phut industrial estate, Thailand’s largest industrial parks.
The fire forced the evacuation of workers and more than 1,000 residents living near the industrial estate.
Rayong governor Seni Jittakasem said Sunday authorities were investigating the cause of the explosions.
