BAYTOWN, Texas — The diesel hydrotreating unit at Exxon Mobil Corp.’s Baytown, Texas-refinery caught fire Wednesday night, triggering flaring at the 560,500 barrel per day (bpd) complex, Reuters reported.
Exxon said that the fire was confined to a refinery process unit at the facility.
"Remaining plant operations were not impacted from the event," said an Exxon spokeswoman.
No injuries were reported.
First opened in 1919 by Humble Oil Company, the six-square mile Baytown Refinery is the nation’s largest oil refinery.Read the full story.
