Hercules CEO receives nearly $4.6 million in 2006

According to the Associated Press, Hercules Inc., which supplies water-treatment chemicals to the paper industry, recently disclosed that it paid President and Chief Executive Craig A. Rogerson approximately $4.6 million in compensation last year not including certain perks. Hercules paid Rogerson a base salary of $712,508 last year, according in a preliminary filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Wilmington, Del.-based company gave him about $1.4 million in cash under a management incentive compensation plan linked to financial and other metrics set in the first quarter of each year. In 2006, Hercules measured Rogerson''s performance by increased cash flow from operations and improved ongoing earnings per share, with the former weighted at two-thirds and the latter at a third.Rogerson also got stock and option awards last year valued at $2.5 million.
